Theatre Philosophy
What Inspires Me?
I have ALWAYS had a hyperactive imagination as far back as I can remember- always thinking about ideas or concepts for my next show, or coming up with original stories that my barbies can act out (lol).
Everything around me is inspiration! It needs to be said that theatre itself is my true inspiration, in the sense that it is what ‘keeps me going’. I have always thought that theatre was the ‘one thing I was good at’. It always came naturally to me and served as a safe haven, whether it be performing on stage, designing set or costumes, or creating or executing a design.
I truly love directing, as I can truly spread my ‘creative wings’ and challenge myself to create a cohesive artistic vision within a production. So- to answer the question, what inspires me is the art of storytelling itself, and the magic that comes with that notion.
